South Coast hike - Gris-Gris to Andrea Lodge

Family-friendly coastal hike along the wild south coast of Mauritius featuring spectacular cliff-top pathways and beaches. Beautiful views all the way along with the possibility of spotting whales as you go. Can be done in either direction or as a round-trip, the distance one-way is approximately 3.1km. For older kids capable of a longer walk it's nice to start at Gris Gris and pause for lunch at Andrea Lodge before returning. For a shorter alternative good for younger kids, walk along the coast from Gris-Gris as far as Roche Qui Pleure to see the waves dramatically crash against the rocks. Use caution with children at all times and keep them well back from cliff edges and waves, it is also not advised to swim on the beaches - the coastline here is beautiful but can be very dangerous.
